FAQ
Garage Door Problems
Why is my garage door so noisy?
Loud grinding, squeaking, or banging noises are usually a sign of worn-out parts. The most common causes are worn rollers, loose hardware, or parts that need lubrication. While lubrication can sometimes help, it’s best to have a technician inspect the door to fix the underlying issue before it causes a bigger problem.
My garage door won't open or close. What should I do?
First, check to make sure the opener has power and that nothing is blocking the safety sensors at the bottom of the door tracks. If those are fine, the issue could be a broken spring or cable. For your safety, do not try to force the door. This is a job for a professional, as a falling door can cause serious injury.
The garage door is opening very slowly. What's wrong?
A slow-moving door often indicates that the door is out of balance or that the opener’s motor is straining. This can be caused by aging springs that no longer have the tension to properly lift the door’s weight. A technician can rebalance the door and inspect the opener to prevent further damage.
I heard a loud "bang" in my garage, and now the door won't open. What happened?
That loud noise was almost certainly a garage door spring breaking. The springs are under extreme tension and do the heavy lifting. When one breaks, the opener cannot lift the door. This is a dangerous repair to attempt yourself. Please call us immediately to have a professional safely replace the spring.
Why is my garage door crooked or hanging unevenly?
A crooked garage door is typically caused by a broken lift cable on one side or a door that has come off its tracks. This puts immense stress on the remaining parts and should be fixed immediately.
